Success orientation is one of the most powerful factors that mobilize and guide people in business life. “Organizational awareness” is one of the components of success orientation, as are “taking initiative, being proactive, being inquisitive and collecting information, paying attention to quality and order, creativity”. Institutional awareness is the ability to comprehend the power relations, values, priorities and norms of behavior that prevail in the organization in which one works. This approach allows the individual to recognize the power and efficiency of the organization. Organizational awareness is knowing how to use information about the organization to achieve business results. This knowledge is not always expressed in defined and prescribed behaviors, but extends to informal channels of communication and decision-making.

Organizational awareness competency has a special importance in today’s business life. It is difficult for a person who does not comprehend the basic values and norms of the organization, does not know the internal dynamics of the organization, and is not aware of power relations to be successful. Understanding Other Companies

Institutional awareness requires employees to be able to identify the explicit or implicit norms and values that exist in their organizations, to identify decision focal points and key players that affect business results, to see the “big picture” and to integrate with the culture. At more advanced levels, this competence involves understanding and taking into account the characteristics of different organizations and segments with which one is in partnership or competition , monitoring the requirements and developments of the economic order and generating solutions, and even being sensitive to cultural values and differences. The best way to understand other cultures is to first review and understand the culture in which one works. This is similar to the difficulty of knowing others and managing one’s relationships without knowing oneself.

While the core values of the organization constitute the core of the organisational culture, the way the employees behave and relate with their appearance is the external reflection of the organisational culture. The way the company relates to its external environment finds its concrete expression in the personal perception created by employees with high corporate awareness.
